Our story
We built this for one reader, then realised everyone has one.
Echobound began with my partner's father. His youth is full of stories most of us only meet in novels — a life lived across decades, places, and quiet acts of courage. Around the dinner table, he lights up telling them. He's an avid reader, but a shy writer: a blank page felt like homework, and the years kept slipping by without a single chapter on paper.
We tried recorders. We tried "just write a few pages, Dad." Nothing stuck. What he needed wasn't a notebook — it was a patient listener who would ask the right next question, then quietly turn the conversation into prose he'd be proud to put on a shelf.
That listener is what Echobound is. Just talk. We do the rest.
We're a small team building the tool we wished existed for our own family. Every decision — the voice-first interview, the three interviewer personas, the printed hardcover — comes from watching real people we love try to tell their story.
Our promise on your data
You're trusting us with something irreplaceable. We treat it that way.
GDPR-grade EU storage
All recordings and transcripts are stored encrypted on our Lovable Cloud infrastructure inside the EU, under strict GDPR protection. Only you and the people you invite can read them. We never sell, share, or train third-party AI on your story.
You own everything
Full copyright stays with you — the audio, the manuscript, the printed book. Republish it, gift it, or keep it inside the family forever.
The right to be forgotten
Once your book is printed, you can download a complete archive (PDF + raw audio ZIP) to your own drive and ask us to permanently delete every trace from our servers. One click, no questions, no recovery — exactly as it should be.
If there's someone in your life whose stories deserve a shelf, we'd love to help.
