Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 May 2026
About these terms
These terms govern your use of Echobound (echobound.co.uk), operated from the United Kingdom. By creating an account or purchasing a tier, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
What we provide
Echobound helps you record spoken memories, transcribes them, writes polished chapters using AI, and (depending on the tier) produces a downloadable PDF and/or a printed hardcover book.
Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure.
Your content & ownership
You own the copyright to your recordings, transcripts, photos and the resulting book. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and transcribe your content solely to deliver the service. We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not share or sell it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to upload content that is illegal, infringes third party rights, contains the personal data of others without their consent, or includes material that is defamatory, harassing or hateful. We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach this.
Pricing & payment
Prices are shown in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Payment is taken at checkout via Stripe. Tier access (PDF download, printed book production) is unlocked after successful payment.
Production & delivery
Once you approve your final manuscript, printed books are typically produced and shipped within 3–4 weeks to UK addresses (longer for international). Shipping addresses are collected at checkout. We are not responsible for delays caused by carriers.
Refunds
See our refund policy.
AI-generated text
Polished chapters are produced by large language models from your own spoken answers. We make reasonable efforts to keep the text faithful, but you are responsible for reviewing your manuscript before approving it for print.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. Refunds for terminated accounts are at our reasonable discretion.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
